Electric bikes are very similar to regular bikes as they often have gears and can be ridden the traditional way without the motor by just pedaling. The big difference is that if desired, a motor on the electric bike can be turned on with a switch; it helps riders pedal smoothly and conquer inclines with ease if they need it.
The electric bicycle is a new technology that is gaining popularity all over the world.   • It is the motor and battery that make a bike an electric bike. Battery offer energy, motor provides half or most of the effect when riding. There are four main electrical parts for an electric bike except battery and motor, they are charger and controller.
  • An electric bicycle uses a wide range of motors and batteries. The motor of an electric bike is usually in the hub of the front wheel or the back wheel. The battery used for an electric bicycle needs to be powerful, yet lightweight. If the battery is heavy most of the power is used to carry the extra load. Lithium-ion batteries are a good choice, it can give you a range of 30 to 80 kms per charging depending on battery capacity,motor power,speed, terrain etc factors.
  • Except the electrical parts, other parts are similar to ordinary bicycle. Such as frame, wheels, handle bar, fork etc. As for the frame,handle bar,fork etc most of bicycle parts are usually made of aluminum alloy for electric bicycle, a lightweight material which helps keep the bike lighter. The brakes on the electric bike are similar to those on standard bike but with power cut switch for electric bicycle. It will cut power when braking to make e-bike more safer. With an electric bike once you turn on the motor you can use the bike.

There are many advantageous of using an electric bicycle. First of all the cost of an e-bike is far less expensive than a moped or scooter. The only recurring cost is the battery. An electric bike makes it a lot easier to travel hills with just a little effort. People use an electric bike for running local errands, and because of the motor it is easier to use when carrying heavy packages. An electric bikes also provides exercise, but because it goes at higher speeds, the wind cools the rider and cuts down on sweating. People who use an electric bike to commute to work wont arrive at the office hot and sweaty. Some people also think that the electric bike is safer than the standard bicycle. While electric bikes are becoming a more prevalent commuting method for people in many countries who like to ride but dont like to pedal up hills.
